5 top reasons your child should learn to play SUP

🎯 Let Kids Gain Self Confidence
There’s nothing like having the ability, from a very young age, to travel some distance and explore, while steering, balancing and controlling your own waterborne paddle board. Learning to ski or riding a bike is one thing, but learning a watersport propelled by your own physical power is another set of skills altogether.

🎯 Athletic Community and sportsmanship

Any athletic endeavour undertaken by a child can expand their horizons, help them establish an identity and build self-respect. Learning stand-up paddle boarding give chance to join a community of “waterpeople” of all skills and ages, connected by skills, abilities and a love of their chosen activity. Whole families and groups can head out together on the water, and young athletes can compete in the same events as elite paddlers, mix with them and gain from their experience and support. The nature of SUP events invites connection, fun and even competition across age groups.

🎯 Spatial Awareness and Proprioception

Kids will learn how to balance and arrange their body weight on different sizes of board. They will also develop the skills and awareness to navigate a standup board around tight turns, in confined and crowded waters, in sweeping maneuvers and at speed. They’ll sense when and how to work with the paddle and carry speed. They’ll learn to avoid collisions, and anticipate and handle waves and currents. All of these things learned while controlling an SUP as an extension of their body, will set them apart from most of their peers. They’re also valuable skills and learning abilities that transfer well to other kinds of boards and watersports, and other activities that require coordination, like driving.

🎯 A Sense Of Direction, And Navigation Skills

A week’s SUP clinic or SUP Kids camp class will help give kids the ability to operate the equipment. And kids may learn every inch of their neighbourhood streets. It’s another set of skills to paddle into unfamiliar territory, following a route or with guidance, noting direction and routes taken, picking out landmarks and being aware of how to get back. Landmarks, tides, light and conditions may all be completely transformed by the time they make the return trip. So these adventures will instil a sense of responsibility for themselves and other members of the group, and routines of preparing the right safety equipment and informing others of their route and intentions.

🎯 Help Them Develop A Weather Eye

Stand up paddlers have a somewhat better vantage point than a surfer or kayaker, and they’ll develop an ability to pick out and read sets of waves before they arrive. They’ll also become familiar with local and regional climate and weather patterns, know which direction the wind and thunder normally arrive from, and what the water temperature should feel like at a certain time of year. The knowledge that’s necessary for safety on the water is likely to become an interest and fascination that’s equally useful on land and for helping others out.

🎯 Sportsmanship And Sharing

It’s a sport that helps nourish an instinct for connecting and looking out for others. SUP has an abundance of fun and competition across age groups. An easy learning curve that may be taken at each individual’s chosen pace, with kids putting in as much time as they want or are able. Once they’ve gained some experience, they can in-turn become mentors for more rookies, and share their equipment and enthusiasm. They will develop their communication and teaching skills, and gain confidence and connection from sharing their knowledge. When they are on the board or SUP camp chance to share knowledge and equipment together.

Besides what we just mentioned about SUP Kids, your children will grow up in the natural environment and SUP also reinforce your kid habits in nature lover, love the ocean life. Moreover, kids that enjoy exercising always have good health condition and immunity in natural way.
