So you like to travel across the world and go on vacations to many different places. Well, that’s a good thing and you should enjoy traveling to different countries. As a matter of fact, you more than likely deserve some time away. However, just because you are trekking across the globe and seeing all of the great sites that the world has to offer; that does not mean that you should not be working out.
Technically, you still should be getting your workout in while you’re abroad. Families are now going to the gym while they are visiting foreign destinations. They are also taking advantage of activities that will help them to stay in shape while they are travelling.
Paddle boarding, surfing, backpacking, hiking and trekking are some of the activities that people typically do while they are on vacation. If you are visiting a location where the environment is urban or does not allow for many outdoor activities, then definitely visit a gym.
Just do not let yourself go while you are away. Remember fun family fitness routines are important while you travel. You do not have to spend more than 30 minutes a day engaging in some type of exercise routine while you travel.
One type of exercise that is popular and fun is paddle boarding. If you take a trip near a beach or the ocean, then try paddle boarding. Paddle boarding similar to canoe you can use an oversized surf board with a paddle. You can stand up while doing this or you can sit down.

Paddle boarding is a total body workout. It improves your core and it builds up your leg and arm muscles. Your posture and balance will also improve as well. You will need good posture to get through this workout to keep from falling off.
Abdominals and shoulder workout is another benefit. You can build your shoulders and stomach muscles and help them to look great. This exercise will also improve your mental state as well. Stand Up Paddle boarding will have you laughing like a little kid. You will play a like a child freely moving through the water without a care in the world.
This activity will boost your confidence and build up your self-esteem. You will also feel at peace and at ease as you glide through the water in a calm state. Your body workout will be really complete when you are having a good time.
Burn calories with paddle boarding. This is important for keeping the weight off. When you are travelling, you have a tendency to gain weight if you are not staying active. Once you start paddle boarding your body will stay fit and trim and the weight will be kept under control. It can even burn off the chocolate cake you ate at that fancy restaurant or the full 5 courses meal you had right before bed.
Keep in mind that many resorts also offer lessons to guests and you should take at least one before you go into the water to do this activity. I tried paddle boarding for the first about two years ago. It has been such a great and rewarding experience that I have never looked back. I will even go out into the ocean during the winter time just to get my fitness in. Make sure you have on a life preserver or are a good swimmer. You can usually rent a paddle board from the resort where you are staying. Keep a sense of humour since you will probably fall off the board a few times before you get the hang of it.
